Looking to stock your Teardrop galley before your very first trip? Not sure what you need? We have been there!

The convenience of a well-equipped galley in your teardrop trailer makes camping feel so much more civilized.

John and I love to start our day with a cup of piping hot coffee. We also love to be able to whip up more than just hot dogs while camping.

So for us, having a well-stocked kitchen is part of a great camping experience. But even having just the essentials, can take your camping trip from just ok, to amazing!

Want to learn more? Let’s jump right in!

Galley Essentials for Your Teardrop

We have put together a list of some of our most-used items and galley essentials for our Teardrop. These items make cooking and meal prep on the road easy and efficient.

1. Coffee Maker

I don’t know about you, but John and I enjoy a coffee in the morning, especially while camping. So a small coffee maker is a must-have for our Teardrop trailer galley.

Galley - Small Coffee maker

Ours is compact, which saves space in our limited kitchen area. It also has a timer, meaning we can start the day with the smell of coffee brewing!

We also have a small espresso pot. Can you tell we love our coffee??

We also have a small stovetop coffee pot, but these days it’s used mostly for boiling water for tea and hot chocolate.

Galley - Tea and Espresso Pots

โ˜• Pro Tip: We purchased a metal trivet to go over our gas stove to make our espresso pot sit better on the burner.

2. Dishes & Utensils

Having a set of plates, bowls, forks, spoons, and knives is pretty important if you plan on having meals at the campsite.

Storage - Cutlery Insert

Opt for lightweight, durable options to save space and avoid breakage. We use Corelle dinnerware and have had no issues.

We prefer to use reusable dishes rather than disposable ones as they are more environmentally friendly and practical.

Don’t forget a few extras in case you have guests!

3. Insulated Mugs and Drinking Glasses

Insulated mugs are a must-have for those chilly mornings when you want your coffee to stay hot.

We started out with the metal camping mugs but quickly moved to insulated ones when we realized just how fast our drinks were getting cold.

And don’t forget the cups! We do not use glassware in our Teardrop, but instead, we have opted for acrylic glasses and plastic cups.

Again, we do not like using disposables, so this was our best option.

We even have a set of acrylic wine glasses!

4. Stovetop Oven

I have to admit, having a stovetop oven is a bit of a splurge, but we use ours all the time.

Our Omnia oven allows us to bake and cook meals without needing a full-sized oven.

It allows us to prepare everything from cinnamon buns for breakfast to casseroles for dinner, right on our stovetop. I was even able to make John a birthday cake while camping!

The best part is, that the Omnia oven is compact, lightweight, and easy to store. It is pretty perfect for the limited space in your trailer.

We find that the Omnia Oven expands our cooking options, making mealtime more varied and enjoyable while camping.

5. Pots and Pans

Pots and pans are must-haves for your teardrop trailer galley.

While we recommend choosing lightweight, stackable options to save space, I know that some campers prefer cast iron as well.

Galley - Pots and Pans

Since we don’t usually cook in our campfire, we prefer non-stick pans that make cooking and cleaning easier.

We have two pots and two pans in our galley, and have found that this is more than enough to whip up most meals.

6. Small Essential Items

This is where you have to decide what kitchen utensils are important to have with you.

Small items like measuring cups, spatulas, bottle openers, cutting boards, and mixing spoons are really dependent on your cooking style.

Trust me, if you don’t use them at home, chances are, you won’t use them at the campsite either.

But since we do a fair bit of cooking (and baking), and our Teardrop galley has space for a variety of utensils, we are pretty stocked!

They make cooking and meal prep simple and efficient. And, having a variety of utensils on hand means youโ€™re prepared for any recipe.

Our suggestion, don’t forget the marshmallow roasting sticks!

7. Kitchen Towels and Oven Mits

Kitchen towels and oven mitts are must-haves for your teardrop trailer galley.

Just like in your kitchen at home, kitchen towels are great for cleaning up spills, drying dishes, and handling hot cookware.

Galley - Pot Holders

Oven mitts protect your hands when handling hot pots, pans, and the stovetop oven.

Both are compact and easy to store, making them ideal for the limited space in your trailer.

8. Cleaning Supplies and Dishpan

Unfortunately, having a small home on wheels means having to clean, even while on vacation. This is especially true if you have kids or pets along on the trip.

So having basic cleaning supplies like dish soap, sponges, and disinfectant wipes are definitely useful in helping to keep your kitchen area clean.

Collapsable Dishpan

We like to have a small broom and dustpan tucked into our trailer to handle crumbs and spills.

Lastly, we also have a collapsable dishpan that makes washing dishes easy, even in limited space.

9. Foodsafe Storage Containers

Food-safe storage containers are a must for your teardrop trailer galley. They are great to have on hand for a variety of reasons too.

Not only do they keep your food fresh, but they also protect it from pests.

We store coffee, sugar, pancake mix, tea, hot chocolate and cereal in storage containers, and it works really well.

Storage - Food Storage Containers

These are food items that we don’t remove between trips, so we made sure to get good-quality containers.

We also keep a few regular Tupperware containers inside our trailer for storing leftovers, or taking food to the beach, or even hiking.

10. Outdoor Cooking Needs

if you are like me, I don’t like to cook bacon or any other really stinky foods inside the camper. Nor do I always want to be cooking inside on a nice day.

As a result, we make sure to bring our Coleman camping stove along with us on every trip.

Coleman Propane Stove

It gives us some flexibility, as well as two extra burners to cook on.

Some other items that we like to have for cooking outdoors, include a small portable barbecue grill, a folding table, a grill to go over the campfire, and outdoor grilling utensils.

We also use two collapsable pails for washing dishes outside.

Other Nice-to-Have Galley Items

If you really want to take your camping meal game to the next level, here are a few more items to add to your Teardrop’s galley:

Galley - Small Crock Pot
  • Slow Cooker (we have a small one perfect for two people)
  • Microwave (if your Teardrop does not come with one)
  • Ice Maker
  • Small blender
  • Toaster Oven
  • Small spice rack (rather than just small multi-spice containers)
