Essentials and More

Having the right gear inside and outside your Teardrop will help to elevate your camping experience. From the perfect cooking accessories and coffee pot to comfortable camping chairs and a bike rack, it all depends on what your individual needs are.

Storage Solutions

Having a small Teardrop means needing to maximize your storage. While it’s a good idea to travel as light as possible, having the right storage solutions can add to the comfort and style of your travel trailer.

Security

Unfortunately, having a small travel trailer means it’s easier to steal than a larger rig. So having the right security gadgets is pretty important. while they can’t guarantee your Teardrop’s safety, they will definitely be a major deterrent.

Our Favourite Camping Gear

When we traded in our tent for a Teardrop Trailer, we also updated a lot of our gear to match. Gone were the simple tin coffee cups, plastic plates and cutlery, and small camping chairs.

We now have a set of Corelle dishes, real cutlery, Yeti mugs, and even a stovetop Omnia Oven for baking (see photo above!). Our camping chairs are larger and more comfortable, and we even have a screened dining tent.

We also purchased a few nice-to-have items like a small coffee maker, crockpot, matching awnings, and cool neon rope lighting. Shopping for Nellie is a lot of fun!

But having the right gear goes beyond just cookware and outdoor furniture. We also needed to get some basic RV equipment in order to use our travel trailer. From a sewer hose to a water pressure regulator and a surge protector, these were just some basic necessities that we needed before our first trip out.

  • Expert Tip – Much as shopping for your Teardrop can be fun (and somewhat addicting!), we would recommend taking a few trips before buying a lot of stuff. Especially if this is your first camper. Get the basics first, then see what you need as you begin to use your trailer.
